Oklahoma City, OK/ November 5, 2018

Oseberg, a leading SaaS and data intelligence company in the oil and gas industry, announced Monday the acquisition of a spatial dataset comprised of Texas Pooled Unit and Unitization tract outlines (“Texas Units”) from Anthem Oil & Gas.

This digital dataset is a combination of pooled unit and unitization outlines, extracted from public regulatory documents filed with the Texas Railroad Commission. Currently there are approximately 20,000 mapped unit outlines across 15 counties within the Permian Basin. “This transaction greatly enhances Oseberg’s already substantial oil & gas lease data offering in one of the world’s hottest and most-prolific basins, the Permian,” said Rich Herrmann Director of Product at Oseberg.

“We created this dataset over several years and used it every day to help make us faster and better informed as a mineral acquisition company. We are excited to have partnered with Oseberg to bring this dataset to market where it can be leveraged for many other critical land-related workflows,” added Wade Koehl, CEO of Anthem’s Royalty Acquisition Division.

“The addition of the Texas Units, together with Oseberg’s existing product suite, provides immediate insights to questions surrounding held-by-production (“HBP”) acreage, lease jeopardy scenarios or the appraisal of mineral acquisition opportunities. We give clients the ability to play offense or defense relative to assets they are trying to acquire and develop or hold and protect,” said Ryan Coe, Land Product Manager at Oseberg.

The Texas Unit dataset is available as part of a standard Oseberg TX data subscription and deliverable through a variety of means.
